    Description

LINTUL-6 model  is a simple crop growth model to simulate crop growth of many different crops under potential, water limited, and N limited crop growth conditions. The model can simulate crop rotations, however, the model does not simulate long-term organic matter decomposition and N cycling in the soil.

    Scale of application
    field
    Spatial resolution
    ha
    Key outputs

Total biomass, yield, water use by crop transpiration, soil evaporation, soil water balance, and crop N uptake for the different crops in the rotation.

    Time horizon
number of years of the rotation
    Time step of modeling
    day
    Required to run

Model can be run most easily from batch file; the changes in crop, weather and soil input files and in the rotation and batch run files can be done with a text editor. To change the model routines itself, a FORTRAN editor is needed.

    Required to develop

    FORTRAN compiler

    Database I/O
    text files
    Articles
