General
LINTUL-4 is a generic and simple crop growth model that can simulate crop growth under both potential, water limited and nitrogen limited conditions. The main simulated processes are: photosynthesis, phenological development, assimilate distribution to crop organs, water uptake, nitrogen uptake, evapo-transpiration, soil water balance, and nitrogen balance. Note that soil organic matter decomposition and Nitrogen dynamics are not modeled.
Specifications
Biomass production, yield, crop transpiration, soil evaporation, crop nitrogen uptake, simple soil water balance, simple soil nitrogen balance
Software requirements
FORTRAN compiler; without compiler, the EXE-file may be used to run the model by changing the data sets with crop, soil and weather characteristics
FORTRAN compiler

Main crop processes in LINTUL-4 model are described in the article by Shibu about the LINTUL model for rice; note that LINTUL-4 can be used for about 20 different crop types.
