LINTUL2 is a crop growth model that is able to simulate crop growth model under both potential and water limited (i.e. rainfed) conditions. It assumes that nutrient supply and crop management are optimal. The main processes modelled are photosynthesis, phenology, assimilate distribution over crop organs, evapo-transpiration and a soil water balance. The photosynthesis calculation is based on a simple relationship between the incoming radiation intercepted by the canopy and the crop growth.
