    Description

LINGRA-N  is a simple  grass growth model which can calculate grass growth and yields under potential (i.e. optimal), water limited (i.e. rainfed) and nitrogen limited growing conditions. LINGRA-N is a generic model which can be used for different grass types growing under a large range of soil and weather conditions and with different mowing regimes.

The model is based on LINGRA.fst but can be applied more easily at the regional scale (for different soil-gras-weather-management combinations) and can be applied for N limited conditions too.

    Scale of application
    field
    Spatial resolution
    ha
    Key outputs

grass production, water components such as soil evaporation, crop transpiration, and percolationn to deeper soil layer, and crop's N uptake, N supply, effects of water stress on grass production, and effect of N stress on grass production

    Time horizon
    growth period/year
    Time step of modeling
    day
    Required to run

Text editor to change soil/crop/weather/management input files; simulation run can next be done by starting the LINGRAN.exe file

    Required to develop

Visual FORTRAN compiler if you want to change the model
